One Stitch At A Time

YAY! The weekend is here!! Hope you all are having an awesome Saturday, I know I am! Since I'm not working on my orders during my "off days" I like to work on other projects for myself. While I'm home, enjoying the company of my husband and my daughter, I love to sit all day on the sofa surfing in Pinterest (ugh...highly addicting!) searching for new inspirations for new hobbies. I love handmade... It's just something about me that loves everything that will takes time to complete, specially when are crafts done with your very own hands. It's just so fulfilling and so satisfying, and not to mention It's a stress reliever more like a therapy!

I felt so inspired to start learning embroidery art. Since I had hoops and cloths laying around at home, I decided to make use of them...finally! Sometimes you can create wonderful things with stuff that you already have at home!
I had this mini hoop that I bought from Spotlight, a mini easel from Art Friend and linen cloth from Daiso.. and so I started to have that urge to start creating!

I follow this amazing embroidery artist in Instagram called "rehabbedhandmade". She does beautiful and stunning pieces of art and I came accross one that I loved alot so I decided to create my own but inspired by hers.

Voila! After a few hours, I finally completed my very first embroidery hoop that now sits on my new shelf at home. I must say I'm pretty proud how it turned out!

I came across a doll house shelf online which I wanted to purchase.. It was much smaller than this and it costed about $69 excluding shipping fee.
I agreed with my husband that he could make one for me so off he went to buy wooden planks, nails, screws ans the water soluble varnish from Daiso. I never knew my husband had such great carpentry skills! He created this beautiful doll house shelf for me that costed a bit more than $30! LOL! Oh yeah... there's my hoop!

What are you lovelies doing this weekend?

Sewing Letter by Letter...

It's so rewarding when you are able to choose all the colors, combining them with different materials, to give life to a project. It's even more rewarding when you make customers happy... It makes my soul smile! When you are surrounded by positive and kind people you just want to create even more and new ideas start to burst out of your ears like fireworks! But, unfortunately, I do have melt downs as well...There were days that I felt like quitting and throwing everything down the drain. Sad to say that not everybody understands how time consuming a handmade item can be or how people depend on their handmade business to support their families." I'm in a rush, can you do it faster?"," Why does it take so long?!", "Why are your stuff so expensive?", "I'm not paying that price for this.."are often comments that, sadly, I have to deal with. But, negativity not always stays around. I'm pretty lucky to have that little voice inside of me reminding myself that this was all I wanted... to make handicrafts and sell them. So to people who don't appreciate, please do get out of my little space and shop somewhere else. I spend hours and hours working on a single banner. I lose sleep trying to finish your orders on time. If I work 12 hours I have to charge accordingly, right? Would any of you like to get paid for 3 hours of work when you put in 12? I don't think so. So, please...seriously...get out and stop making me feel guilty for wanting to get paid accordingly and to run my business like a business.
But I guess this is all handmade artist greatest problem right?

When drama like this happens, I'm just so lucky to have customers who stick around and support me. Your kind words are truly appreciated. Truly. I thank every single one of you who follow me and share my works with friends and family. Thank you so much!
And sorry for not accepting anymore orders for this year. Due to high demand, my agenda is now fully booked. I wish I had clones of me so I can take all of your orders and make everyone happy! But as soon as new slots are open, It will be announced. So stick around!

So here's a sneak peek on Areina's princess banner to-be. Isn't a beautiful name?

And yes, that little container on the right is indeed a medicine container. I love storing sequins in them or anything tiny and in small quantities.

Now I can't wait to work on this banner and finish it on time for Areina's baby shower <3

Kiss to all you lovelies who stops by!

Customized Monogram Hoops Are Here!

So excited for this new addition to the Crafters Boutique family! Like I've mentioned before, It's been a long time plan that I've never got the chance to realize. But I'm so glad I put in the extra effort to make it happen!
I wanted to make something special for my friends babies and I did promise that I would make them something unique that I haven't got in my shop yet! I know the promise took awhile to fulfill but It's finally here!

So these lovely hoops are now ready to be shipped and travel thousands of miles all the way to Macau and to the Philippines.

For Fiona, born just months ago...
For Kyrie and his crazy obsession over Doreamon.
For Neirus, big brother of little Fiona.
And for the handsome Marqus.

I've finished the hoops with stiff acrylic felt at the back.

Hope all you lovelies are having a wonderful weekend! Till next post!
